Twittering

I have set up an account on Twitter. I don't know anyone else using it so I couldn't really get into it. I'm not sure if this is something I would use anyway.

Podcasting

Downloading podcasts is great. I searched for the Talking Science podcasts from the ABC. Will add this to my iTunes.

You Tube

You Tube is great but you can waste SO much time just looking up complete and utter rubbish! I found this video of a Hello Kitty themed wedding.

I'm not sure why it took place in a train station but I think the arrivals and departures announcements added a nice touch.

Why did I choose this video? I wanted to find something really ridiculous on You Tube and I think I achieved that!

iGoogle

I knew about iGoogle but hadn't really looked into it too much. I've now created a page and added Google Maps, Google Books, Facebook and Google Docs. I also added the iTunes Top 10 Songs gadget - a bit scary but good to know I guess!

Google MAPS

I use both Google MAPS and Google DOCS already. They are both great tools. I love searching for directions on Google MAPS and then looking at the street view. So handy! And Google DOCS has been great for me when working on docments with people outside of UQ Library.

Wikis

I have been using LibNet and regularly adding to it. I find wikis really useful particularly in our library where we have one desk. The wiki is a central place for staff to add information which can be located easily.

Technorati

I've been searching on Technorati for learning 2.0. I found a couple of good blogs. It is a little overwhelming when you start digging around for these sorts of things. There is so much information out there - even if I was to add them add to my feedreader there is no way I could keep up with it all!

Del.icio.us

I haven't used del.icio.us for some time so it was good to look at it again. I searched for a few things and added them to my bookmarks.

LibriVox

LibriVox is great. I searched for a few books which they didn't have but eventually saw The Age of Innocence which I decided to download. I will add this to my iPod tonight.

Google Books

Google Books is good but not great. It does seem to be getting better all the time but there needs to be a lot more choice. I think it is great for reference or text books but I don't really see myself reading books for leisure online particularly if I need to purchase a device for that purpose only. You never know though - it would be great for travelling! I have added some books to My Library.

Library Thing

I have just spent some time on Library Thing. I have looked into it before as I know a couple of people that use it. Seems like a good idea but I don't see myself taking the time to do this. I barely have time to keep up with the books I am reading at home, let alone taking the time to organise them online as well.

I've set up my Library Thing account and have added a few titles.

RSS

I have had RSS feeds set up for some time now. At work I use Feedreader which I find really useful. I signed up for a Bloglines account although I don't like it as much. Maybe I am just not used to it. I also subscribed to Digg.

Comments

I have looked at the comments on various blogs and also have made a comment on a blog.

Pink Neon

I have just been using the Flickr Color Pickr. Found this great image:

I love the colour.

Icelandic horses

I have been looking around Flickr and found this great photo of some Icelandic horses.

This photo wasn't taken in Iceland which is unusual as there are not many of these horses outside the country.
